Introduction

• Although Apple does not officially support a true Split View on iPhone, you can still unlock powerful multitasking features—Split View, Picture-in-Picture (PiP), and more—using community tools. In this guide, we’ll show you how to use AltStore and Live Container to turn your iPhone into a productivity powerhouse, all without jailbreaking.

Core Concepts & Requirements

1. Official Limitations
   • Apple only enables Split View on iPad; iPhone lacks native support.
2. Key Tools
   • AltStore: A sideload platform for non-App Store apps.
   • Live Container: A plugin that injects multitasking APIs into chosen apps.
3. Hardware & Software
   • A Windows or macOS computer (for installing AltStore).
   • A Lightning or USB-C cable (depending on your iPhone model).

1. Install AltStore on Your Computer

1. Download AltServer
   • Go to altstore.io and grab the Windows or macOS installer.
2. Windows Prerequisites
   • Install non-Microsoft‐Store iTunes and iCloud for Windows so AltServer can detect your device.
3. Install & Launch AltServer

   # Windows: Run AltServer as Administrator
   # macOS: Double-click the installer
   

4. Connect Your iPhone
   • Plug in via cable and tap “Trust” when prompted on your iPhone.
5. Install AltStore

• Click the AltServer icon in your system tray/menu bar → Install AltStore → select your iPhone.
  • Enter your Apple ID credentials (used only for signing).

2. Trust & Open AltStore on iPhone

1. On your iPhone, go to Settings > General > VPN & Device Management.
2. Locate your Apple ID profile and tap Trust.
3. Open AltStore, switch to the Settings tab, and sign in with the same Apple ID.

3. Install the Live Container Plugin

1. Download the IPA
- Get the latest Live Container IPA from its official GitHub or video description link.
2. Sideload via AltStore
- In AltStore, tap the “➕” icon, select the Live Container IPA.
- If you see “App contains extensions,” choose Keep App Extensions.
3. Import Certificates & Patch
- Launch Live Container → Settings → Import Certificates from AltStore → set a certificate password.
- Go back and tap Patch AltStore. Wait for the process to complete.

4. Enable Multitasking for Your Apps

1. In Live Container’s Apps section, tap “➕” and choose any IPA
2. On your Home Screen, long-press the installed app icon → Settings → Convert to Shared App → Move.
3. Long-press again → select Multitask to launch the app in Split View or PiP.
